Runshifter is a conceptual app designed to help runners increase their speed while winning prizes. Speed is captured and visually represented on the screen in the shape of an animal. This animal is like an avatar that moves with the runner and shifts into another animal depending on the person’s speed. Runners start out as snails and keep shifting to the next animal until the desired speed is reached and maintained. With only a glance, the runner knows how good his or her performance is. While meandering around the city the app also displays badges that are assigned with point values. With AR the runner can actually see (through the device) these badges on their way and collect them to ultimately redeem the points into healthy prizes and discounts.
